Scholarship & Financial Aid/Grand Possibilities
De La Salle Scholars' Program
Students are invited to participate in this program by the Principal at the time of official acceptance. Invitations are made based on a variety of academic and other criteria on the recommendation of the Director of Admissions and the Director of the Lasallian Scholars' program, in consultation with the Vice Principal for Academic Affairs. The award is no less than $1,000.00 per year, renewable annually for as long as the student adequately meets the requirements of the Scholars' Program.
Alumni Leadership Program
Hudson Catholic Alumni have made donations to their Alma Mater to help students with tuition. In some instances, these grants are restricted (i.e. only boys from a particular grade school are eligible). Awards are granted by the Principal and the President of the Alumni Association, in consultation with the Director of Admissions and the Grants Committee. Students pick up applications at registration. These grants are normally awarded in the amount of $500.00 or $1,000.00, renewable annually. Recommendations, a student essay, and a copy of the W-2 form from the parent(s)/gardian(s) must accompany the application.
Grants to Musicians
Incoming students who demonstrate proficiency in selected musical instruments may receive a tuition reduction grant of $500.00, awarded by the Principal at the recommendation of staff members. An audition is required. All recipients of the grant agree to attend regular practices and to perform at school assemblies, open house events, and more.
Principals' Leadership Awards
The Principal of Hudson Catholic offers Leadership Awards at the recommendation of elementary school principals. Students who feel themselves eligible for the Leadership Award may pick up applications at the time of registration. These grants are normally awarded in the amount of $500.00, renewable annually. Recommendations (including one from the applicant's elementary school principal) and an essay written by the student must accompany the application.
Archdiocesan Aid
Applications for financial aid distributed by the Archdiocese of Newark may be picked up at registration. In addition, applicants with a parent teaching full-time in an elementary school of the Archdiocese of Newark receive a tuition reduction of $1,500.00, pending receipt of validation from the elementary school principal.
Hudson Catholic offers no scholarships or financial grants/aid based on athletic ability. Transportation reimbursement vouchers are available in the Main Office. Significant time restrictions apply on all awards and grants.
