Welcome Coach Mariniello
When asked his expectations for next season, Coach Mariniello
said, “Obviously, the school has a deep academic and athletic
tradition. I hope to rebuild the (basketball) program from the
ground up and return it to where it once was and where it
belongs.” He does not have a win/loss expectation for the
season, but he would like to see the team qualify for the
state tournament.
As for his team, he said the key will be accountability. The players will not
only be accountable for honing their skills on the court, they will be
accountable for their school work. His training program includes an
academic component with weekly study hall and progress reports.
Also, he will have each player’s class schedule and will know what is
going on in the classroom on a week-to-week basis. This is in keeping
with his belief in creating scholar-athletes who can excel in the classroom
and on the court.
In the short time he has been with us, Coach Mariniello has fully
immersed himself into the life of Hudson Catholic. “I’m here not
only for the basketball program but for the school. I think I have
a lot to bring to the Hudson Catholic family,” he said.
When asked how he feels to begin his new coaching job at Hudson Catholic,
Coach Mariniello had this to say: “I am happy to be here. I am very
happy to be here.”
The Hudson Catholic community is happy he is here, too. We look
forward to the new season and wish Coach Mariniello and the team
much success.
