Alumni President Letter I love to smile and see people smiling back. Fr. Warren is a guy who likes to smile. The good thing about being the President of the Alumni Association at this time is knowing I can help my brother Hawk, Fr. Warren, make a real difference in the lives of so many of our hard-working Hawk families--working families whose young men are following in our footsteps, working families who have entrusted their sons (and yes, soon their daughters) to our brother Hawk, Fr. Warren Hall, to our Christian Brothers, and to our lay faculty in “Our School.” They all will teach them and give them the same building blocks to achieve success that we were given at the Hawks’ Nest. It makes me smile. Read More. |

As we begin this New Year of 2009, I want to take this opportunity to update you on what has been happening at Hudson Catholic these past few months. Academics: The first quarter ended on a very high academic note. We had more students make the honor roll than over the past few quarters, and we are very proud of that. For those students needing some extra help, our faculty have been working as “departments” after school to meet any student needs.
Annual Fund / SOS Campaign Contributions Welcome to Sr. Joann Marie Aumand, SSC Dean of Administration
When Larry Basinksi approached me and asked if I would become editor of the new Alumni e-newsletter, I thought about it for a minute. Then I said yes. I could have come up with good reasons to say no, but they couldn’t have been better than the reason I said yes: I am a Brothers' Boy, and I was asked to do my part for Hudson Catholic. Many of you have done the same this past year. Together, we did an amazing and wonderful thing. Of course, the work has not ended. It has just begun. |

The annual Hudson Catholic Football Banquet and Wall of Fame Dinner will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 7 P.M. in Castle Hall at Hudson Catholic. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season, renew old friendships, and share memories. It is an honor for our players to rub elbows with the men who played before them, as well as share a special night with friends and family. Read More. ________ Game Day After reading Gary Ferrari’s e-mail on the eve of the Varsity Football team’s first trip to the State Final, I was not only motivated to attend the game, but I was inspired to write my own game day reflection a couple hours before our team took to the field. Gary’s inspirational words (and my reflection, as well), along with an article from the Hudson Reporter, are included here. Enjoy! And be proud! -Brian J. Slattery |
